Indonesia's cement consumption, an indicator of consumer demand in Southeast Asia's biggest economy, rose 6.6 percent in July from a year ago, industry data showed on Wednesday.
Total cement consumption in July rose to 3,740,047 tonnes, taking total consumption in the first seven months to 10.7 percent above the same period last year, according to data from the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI).
Investors have favoured consumer and infrastructure-related stocks as they poured into Indonesia's stock market in the past year, attracted by strong growth prospects and domestic demand. Indonesia's biggest cement producer is Semen Gresik. Source: Reuters
