Mandiri Sekuritas Borong 1,08 Juta Saham Bakrie Brothers!!!!

Mandiri Sekuritas memborong 1,08 juta lot saham Bakrie Brothers (BNBR).

Bakrie Telecom to buy Telkom unit for $1 bln-sources

Indonesian mobile phone firm PT Bakrie Telecom (BTEL) is set to acquire the CDMA unit of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM) in a share swap deal worth up to $1 billion, sources with direct knowledge of the deal told Reuters on Wednesday.

The deal, in which Bakrie Telecom will issue new shares and swap them for Telkom's CDMA assets worth between 7 to 9 trillion rupiah ($1.01 billion), may be signed in November or December, said two sources, who declined to be identified because the talks were not public.

"Both parties need to conduct one final valuation to complete the plan," said one of the sources. "We expect the deal will be fully completed by early next year."

Bakrie Telecom was not immediately available for comment, while a Telkom spokesman said talks on a deal were ongoing.

Bakrie Telecom, controlled by PT Bakrie & Brothers (BNBR), is already Indonesia's second-biggest CDMA operator and the acquisition would give it more than 90 percent of the CDMA market, according to an anti-trust agency. ($1=8937 Rupiah). Sources: Reuters

Copper May Flip Into Shortage This Year After Surplus, Standard Bank Says

Copper consumption will outpace supply this year by 58,000 metric tons as demand increases and supplies are disrupted, compared with a previous forecast for a surplus, Standard Bank Plc said.

The bank revised its estimate last month of a surplus of 153,000 tons. The metal will have a shortage of 199,000 tons next year and about 457,000 tons in 2012, analyst Leon Westgate said in a report. Standard Bank said prices will average $8,700 a ton in 2012. It raised its 2011 lead and tin forecasts from last month, and cut estimates for aluminum and zinc.

A “robust demand outlook for the fourth quarter, low stock levels, supply disruptions, a weak dollar” and improved risk appetite are positive for copper, Westgate wrote. Developing economies in Asia and a tightening concentrate market are also bullish longer-term, the bank said.

Copper has surged 26 percent since the end of the second quarter, partly as stockpiles tracked by the London Metal Exchange dropped to the lowest level in almost a year. The U.S. Dollar Index, a six-currency gauge of the greenback’s strength, last week slumped to the lowest level in more than eight months. A weaker U.S. currency makes dollar-priced metals cheaper in terms of other monies.

Copper for delivery in three months traded at $8,228 a ton at 11:16 a.m. on the LME. Prices are up 12 percent this year and yesterday reached the highest price since July 2008. Standard Bank maintained its copper forecast for this year and next at $7,375 and $7,900, respectively.

Long Way
“Copper prices have come a long way very quickly, and may suffer a pull-back or a period of consolidation in the short term,” Westgate said. “We nevertheless maintain our bullish stance towards the metal as the market looks towards continued economic growth in 2011 and supply concerns that loom on the horizon.”

Standard Bank cut its 2011 aluminum forecast 3.2 percent to $2,430 a ton, and introduced a 2012 estimate of $2,510, and raised its 2011 lead outlook 1.2 percent to $2,480 and said the metal may average $2,590 in 2012. The bank maintained its nickel forecast for next year at $24,800 and said the metal will average $25,100 in 2012.

Tin will average $25,000 a ton next year, up 7.8 percent from a previous forecast, and will average $26,100 in 2012, Standard Bank said. It cut its 2011 zinc estimate 3.9 percent to $2,450 and said prices will average $2,750 the following year. Source: Bloomberg

Indonesian Rubber Prices Advance to a Record on Shortage, Association Says

Rubber prices in Indonesia, the world’s second-largest producer, surged to a record $3.85 a kilogram today as heavy rains disrupted tapping, lowering production, according to the Rubber Association of Indonesia.

The price may advance to $4 a kilogram by the end of the month because of a “supply shortage” while domestic demand keeps expanding, Asril Sutan Amir, the association’s chairman said by phone today.Source: Reuters

potentially worth $375 million, three sources with direct

keen to secure access to Indonesian thermal coal, which is used

Indonesia's Indosat eyes $1.4 bln tower sale -sources

* May sell 14,000 towers by end yr or early next yr - sources
* Indosat says picked Citigroup as strategic advisor
* Telkom and Tower Bersama may bid for the assets - sources
PT Indosat (ISAT), Indonesia's No. 2 mobile phone provider, may sell up to 14,000 telecom towers worth about $1.4 billion in coming months, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on Tuesday.

Indonesia needs about $7 to $8 billion of annual investment to build telecom towers across Southeast Asia's biggest economy to boost coverage and tap strong mobile phone growth, though foreign investors are banned from owning or operating towers.

Indonesian state telecom firm PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM) and private telecom tower operator PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure are likely bidders, said two of the sources, who declined to be identified because the plan was not public.

Indosat, controlled by Qatar Telecom QTEL.QA, confirmed it was considering a sale.
"We're still evaluating the options, we could sell it or retain it. Nothing is definite yet on the sale plan. It may be decided this year or next year," said Fadzri Sentosa, an Indosat director.

Sentosa said the company has appointed Citigroup as a strategic advisor on its tower assets.

Indonesia is one of the world's most crowded telecommunications markets, with 11 operators fighting for custom in a population of 237 million.

Indosat has 37.8 million subscribers, well behind PT Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, with 88 million subscribers, but ahead of PT XL Axiata's (EXCL) 35 million.

Indosat had 17,372 base transceiver station (BTS) towers as of the first half of 2010, and is likely to use the proceeds of any sale to pay down debt and for expansion of its core business.

"Telkom may likely be the bidder as the company is currently consolidating its tower business, but the situation is still fluid, any local telco players could come in to bid for the assets," said one of the sources.

Telkom has said it plans capital expenditure of about $2 billion next year to finance infrastructure projects, and is also looking to expand through acquisitions in the region as it sees the domestic market maturing.

Tower Bersama, controlled by Saratoga Capital, has raised about $220 million for an initial public offering in late October, as more firms seek to raise capital from investors in a Jakarta stock market at record highs this year. Source:
